Free HEIC to JPG Converter | Convert iPhone Photos to JPG Online
Convert iPhone HEIC photos to universally compatible JPG, right in your browser.
What HEIC to JPG conversion does
HEIC is the default photo format on iPhone. It keeps file sizes small, but it is not widely supported — many websites, older devices, Windows applications and print services cannot open it. Converting to JPG produces a universally compatible file, so your photos can be uploaded, emailed, printed or shared without compatibility errors.
How the conversion works
Each HEIC photo is opened and re-saved as a standard JPG. If an image contains a transparent background, it is placed on a white background, since JPG does not support transparency. Quality is kept high, so the result is visually indistinguishable from the original while remaining light and easy to share.
All processing takes place on our server, and no files are retained. Your photos and the converted files are deleted automatically once the download is complete. Metadata the camera embeds — such as the location and time a photo was taken — is also removed, so you share only the image itself.
How to use it
- Drag your HEIC files into the upload area, or click to select them. Multiple files can be added at once.
- Click Convert. A progress bar shows the upload, followed by processing.
- Download the converted JPG files.
Good to know
JPG uses lossy compression, meaning it discards a small, usually imperceptible amount of detail in exchange for a much smaller file. For everyday photos, sharing and printing, this is the ideal choice. If you need an exact copy with no quality loss — for editing, or for graphics with sharp text and edges — convert to PNG instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are my iPhone photos saved as HEIC?
Since iOS 11, Apple stores photos as HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) by default because it holds the same visual quality in roughly half the size of a JPG. The catch is compatibility: many Windows programs, older browsers, and upload forms can't read HEIC, so converting to JPG is often needed before you share.
Will converting HEIC to JPG lower the quality?
There is a small, one-time quality loss. HEIC is already compressed and JPG is also a lossy format, so re-encoding adds a single generation of compression. We first decode the HEIC to a lossless intermediate and then export JPG at high quality, so for ordinary photos the difference is not visible to the eye.
Does the JPG keep my photo's date and location (EXIF)?
No. During conversion the metadata — including the capture date and GPS location — is stripped, so the JPG carries the image only. That is good for privacy when sharing, but if you need the original timestamps keep a copy of the source HEIC.
Can I convert several HEIC files at once?
Yes. You can upload up to 30 HEIC files per batch (20MB each, 200MB in total). Every converted JPG is packaged into a single ZIP so you download them all in one click.
Is it safe to convert my photos here?
Yes. Conversion runs on our server over an encrypted connection, and both the uploaded HEIC files and the converted JPGs are automatically deleted one hour after processing. We never view, share, or keep your images.
