Free HEIC to PNG Converter | iPhone HEIC to Lossless PNG Online
Convert iPhone HEIC photos to lossless PNG when you need an exact, widely supported copy.
What HEIC to PNG conversion does
PNG is the format to choose when you need an exact, high-quality copy of an image with nothing lost. Converting your iPhone's HEIC photos to PNG produces a file that opens on any device or program, preserves every pixel, and — unlike JPG — can retain transparent areas.
How the conversion works
Each HEIC file is opened and re-saved as a PNG. Nothing is compressed away or discarded, so the result is identical to the original, and any transparent areas are preserved.
All processing takes place on our server, and no files are retained. Your uploads and the converted files are deleted automatically once the download is complete, and metadata such as the GPS location is removed during conversion.
How to use it
- Drag your HEIC files into the upload area, or click to select them. Multiple files can be added at once.
- Click Convert. A progress bar shows the upload, followed by processing.
- Download the converted PNG files.
PNG or JPG — which should you choose?
PNG preserves perfect quality and supports transparency, but the files are larger. This makes it the right choice for screenshots, logos, illustrations, or any image with sharp text and clean edges. If you simply want to share or print an ordinary photo while keeping the file small, JPG is the lighter option.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I choose PNG instead of JPG?
Pick PNG when you need a lossless copy — for further editing, for screenshots, or for images with sharp text and hard edges — or when you need transparency support. For everyday photos you plan to share, JPG gives a far smaller file with no visible difference.
Does HEIC to PNG lose any quality?
No extra lossy compression is added — PNG is a lossless format. It cannot restore detail that HEIC's original compression already discarded, but it preserves the decoded image exactly, with no further degradation.
Why is my PNG bigger than the original HEIC?
HEIC uses modern HEVC compression that is much more space-efficient than PNG's lossless compression. A 2MB HEIC can easily become 8–10MB as a PNG. That increase is expected — you are trading file size for a lossless, universally supported format.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
Camera photos don't contain transparency, so the PNG will be fully opaque. Transparency is preserved only if the source HEIC actually includes an alpha channel, which is rare for regular pictures.
Can I convert multiple files, and is it private?
Yes to both. Upload up to 30 HEIC files per batch (20MB each, 200MB total) and download the PNGs in one ZIP. Every uploaded and converted file is deleted automatically one hour after processing.
