Free TIFF to JPG Converter | Convert Scanned TIFF to JPG Online
Convert large TIFF scans and photos into compact, shareable JPGs.
What TIFF to JPG conversion does
TIFF is a high-quality format common in scanning and printing, but the files are large and awkward to share, and many programs cannot preview them. Converting TIFF to JPG produces a compact, universally supported image that is easy to email, upload or post.
How the conversion works
Each TIFF is re-saved as a JPG with a high-quality setting, greatly reducing the file size while keeping the picture looking the same.
All processing takes place on our server, and no files are retained. Your files and the converted results are deleted automatically once the download is complete. Metadata embedded in the original, such as the location and time it was taken, is removed during conversion.
How to use it
- Drag your TIFF files into the upload area, or click to select them. Multiple files can be added at once.
- Click Convert. A progress bar shows the upload, followed by processing.
- Download the converted JPG files.
Good to know
JPG is ideal for sharing and everyday use. Because it is lossy and does not keep the full detail of a TIFF, hold on to your original TIFF if you need a master copy for professional printing or archiving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why convert TIFF to JPG?
TIFF is a large, high-quality format common for scans and professional photos, but it's hard to share and many phones and apps can't open it. JPG is far smaller and opens everywhere, which makes it ideal for sending or posting the image.
Will converting reduce quality?
JPG is lossy, so there's a slight, one-time compression — usually invisible for photos and document scans at the high quality (85) we use. In return the file becomes dramatically smaller.
I have a multi-page TIFF — what should I use?
JPG holds a single image, so it's best for one-page TIFFs. If your TIFF has several scanned pages you want to keep together, convert it to PDF instead so all pages stay in one file.
What happens to transparency in the TIFF?
JPG doesn't support transparency, so if the TIFF has transparent areas they're filled with a white background. Most scans and photos are fully opaque, so this rarely matters.
How many files can I convert, and is it private?
You can upload up to 30 TIFF files per batch (20MB each, 200MB total), returned as JPGs in a single ZIP. Every uploaded and converted file is deleted automatically one hour after processing.
