What PNG to PDF conversion does

PNG is the usual format for screenshots, receipts, diagrams and other images with sharp text and lines. Converting them to PDF is handy when you want to send or print them as a tidy document — for example, submitting a screenshot as proof, or filing a saved receipt.

How the conversion works

Each PNG is placed on its own PDF page, sized to match the image, at a resolution suitable for clean printing, so text and fine lines stay crisp. Add several images and you get a PDF for each, ready to download together.

All processing takes place on our server, and no files are retained. Your images and the resulting PDFs are deleted automatically once the download is complete.

How to use it

  1. Drag your PNG files into the upload area, or click to select them. Multiple files can be added at once.
  2. Click Convert. A progress bar shows the upload, followed by processing.
  3. Download the converted PDF files.

Good to know

The PDF holds your image exactly as it looks, which is perfect for sharing and printing. Bear in mind that text inside the image cannot be selected or searched — it remains a picture. If you need a smaller file for a long document, a JPG-based PDF will usually be lighter than one made from PNG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does PNG to PDF keep the image sharp?

Yes. PNG is lossless and the image is embedded into the PDF without re-compression, so text, screenshots, and line art stay crisp. It's a good choice when the source has fine detail or hard edges that JPG would blur.

What happens to a transparent PNG background?

PDF doesn't handle image transparency the way PNG does, so transparent areas can appear with a dark or unexpected background in the PDF. If your PNG relies on transparency, place it on a solid background before converting to get a predictable result.

Are all my PNGs combined into one PDF?

No — each PNG becomes its own one-page PDF, delivered together in a single ZIP. To combine them into one multi-page document, merge the individual PDFs with a PDF tool after downloading.

What page size does the PDF use?

The page is sized to fit each image's dimensions and orientation at 150 DPI, so nothing is cropped or stretched. A tall screenshot produces a tall page; a wide diagram produces a wide page.

How many files can I convert, and is it private?

You can upload up to 30 PNG files per batch (20MB each, 200MB total), each returned as a one-page PDF in a single ZIP. Every uploaded and converted file is deleted automatically one hour after processing.
